General [1]

Heh. I've been tagged [2] by Jean [3], who'd herself been tagged [4] by Mel [5], I think. So, in the blogosphere's best version of a not-for-profit pyramid scheme, lessee:

Four jobs I've had:

  1. Listening into Soviet Red Army transmissions in Eastern Germany, from the West German border
  2. Hardware import agent
  3. Helpdesk dude (these two both for VillageTronic [6] when they were still doing Amiga [7] hardware)
  4. Translator

Four movies I can watch over and over:

  1. Le Grand Bleu / The Big Blue [8] (3.5-hour version, natch)
  2. To Have and Have Not [9] (the blueprint for Casablanca, but with Lauren Bacall ... purr ...)
  3. The Unbearable Lightness of Being [10]
  4. The Fifth Element [11]

(What, no music question? What's wrong with you people?)
Four CDs I wouldn't want to live without:

  1. King Crimson [12] - Red [13]
  2. Yes [14] - Yessongs [15]
  3. echolyn [16] - mei [17]
  4. Banco del Mutuo Soccorso [18] - Io Sono Nato Libero [19]

Four places I've lived:

  1. Hannover [20], Germany
  2. King's College, St Lucia, Brisbane (ugh - for three months only, thank dog)
  3. Taringa, Brisbane
  4. Indooroopilly, Brisbane

Four TV shows I love:

  1. Northern Exposure [21] (now out on DVD [22], people!)
  2. Babylon 5 [23]
  3. The West Wing [24] (yes, I know, Jean likes it too...)
  4. Black Books [25]

(Add SBS World News [26] if we're counting non-fiction...)

Four places I’ve vacationed:

  1. Peregian Beach [27], Queensland
  2. Sevilla, Spain
  3. Rhodos, Greece
  4. Boston, Massachusetts

Four of my favourite dishes:

  1. Bul-go-gi (Korean stir-fry type thing)
  2. Massaman curry (Thai hot, of course)
  3. My home-made pasta bake, with oodles of anchovies
  4. As much Queensland shellfish as I can get my hands on

Four sites I visit daily:

  1. Robert Fripp's diary [28] on DGMLive [29]
  2. Google [30]
  3. QUT Diary [31]
  4. This one... [32]

Four places I’d rather be right now:

  1. On a beach on the Sunshine Coast [33]
  2. Visiting my mum on Ibiza
  3. At Ann's place
  4. At the post-election party where John Howard acknowledges defeat

Four people I tag:

  1. Michelle [34] ('cos she didn't respond to Mel's tag [4])
  2. Jo [35]
  3. Alex [36] (who is not me)
  4. And as our international wildcard: Sid [37]
